North Norfolk New Business Supported by MENTA

Paul Williamson, is chief technology officer at Use Sky Eye Ltd, he lives in Felbrigg, a small village near Cromer. His work has always been in programming, quantitative strategy, portfolio management and risk analysis.

Paul was booked in for a flying experience and he has been hooked on aviation ever since, which led to his decision to go self-employed and work in the world he has grown to love. 

As Paul put it… in a nutshell, I have developed a ‘database of flying intentions’. My goal is to

develop a high tech. business, using artificial intelligence and machine learning, in North

Norfolk that gives employment options other than farming and tourism to the youth of tomorrow’.

Anyone using airspace, to get from A to B, has to complete a ‘prior permission request’. With air

traffic ever increasing and with the dawn of drone activity this is becoming ever more important,

both from control and safety perspectives. Air traffic controllers are far too busy to be taking

such requests so Paul has developed an app to capture all the correct information from flyers

so it is at everyone’s fingertips. 

Whilst potential clients are anyone using airspace, Paul’s priority focus is on airfields and general aviation pilots.
