Level Up: Construct Your First Game and Discover Careers in Gaming
Event Details:

Timings: 10:00 to 12:00 / 13:00 to 15:00
The workshop will be held at The Bank in Eye in their new digital hub – The Vault!
The session will be hosted by Rubber Ducky Snacks an Indie game developer from North Norfolk. They specialise in Motion Capture, Game creation, Game Development tools and Game Education.
What to expect:
- You’ll learn about designing games and create a paper prototype of your game.
- Then you’ll learn about game engines and convert your paper prototype into a playable game.
- Lastly, Test and update your game and play other people’s games.
- During this workshop, you’ll also learn about careers in the games industry
Important notes:
- You do not need to understand coding or drawing for this workshop
- Our 10:00 to 12:00 session is for individuals aged 12 to 18 years old and our 13:00 to 15:00 session is for individuals aged 18 to 25 years old
- Equipment is provided
- Under 16s are to be accompanied by an adult – the café will be open for Wi-Fi and hot drinks
Build a Museum - Behind the Scenes at Gainsborough's House

Ever wondered what it takes to run a museum? From curating exhibitions to marketing, education, and visitor experience — this interactive afternoon will give you a behind-the-scenes look at the wide range of careers that bring a museum to life.
Join us for a fun, hands-on workshop at Gainsborough’s House to explore how exhibitions are created, who makes it all happen, and what skills are needed in the world of heritage and museums.
Workshop Schedule:
1:00pm – Welcome & Introductions
Meet the Gainsborough’s House team and discover different museum career paths.
Kick things off with our quick-fire “Who Does What?” quiz to match roles with job descriptions!
1:15pm – Guided Site Tour
Explore the galleries, education spaces, historic House, visitor areas, shop, and café.
Use your Career Tracker worksheet to note which roles and spaces interest you most.
2:00pm – Mapping the Museum: Who Makes it Happen?
Work together to map out how an exhibition goes from concept to opening day.
Learn about curation, marketing, operations, learning, and retail — with short films and team bios to bring each role to life.
2:30pm – Build a Mini-Museum
Get creative! In small groups, design a mini museum space based on your tour.
Use provided materials to plan, design, and ‘build’ your own display — then combine your ideas to create a full museum model.
3:15pm – Finale: Group Discussion
Share your ideas and reflections with your peers and the museum team

Careers in Heritage: Skills, Pathways & Opportunities

Careers in Heritage: Skills, Pathways & Opportunities is a free careers event for young people aged 12–25 who are curious about working in the heritage sector.
The event brings together industry professionals, training providers, and organisations to showcase the wide range of careers available across heritage — from conservation and crafts to building specialists and heritage trades.
Attendees will be able to take part in inspiring talks, interactive workshops, and engage directly with exhibitors, gaining practical insight into what working in heritage really involves. The event is designed to help young people explore different roles, understand the skills required, and learn about the pathways into the sector, including education, training, apprenticeships, and employment.
Whether you’re just starting to think about your future, exploring creative and hands-on careers, or looking for your next step, this event offers a supportive and engaging space to ask questions, try things out, and connect with people already working in heritage.
No prior experience is required — just curiosity and an interest in discovering what opportunities the heritage sector has to offer.
