Supporting overseas nationals to start their own business

Tetyana Zholobova moved to the UK in 2022 from Ukraine, bringing with her a wide range of experience in hairdressing, beauty, and massage therapies, having previously run a successful business.

Determined to continue her work, she quickly engaged in several courses to gain the necessary qualifications to practice in the UK.

Tetyana was among the first participants to fully complete our Employability for Overseas Nationals (EON) self-employment programme, gaining the resources and guidance she needed to build her new business offering sports massage and therapies.

She said: “During all the sessions I didn’t for a second feel like I was in a lesson, but felt as if we were just talking over a cup of coffee. This was spectacular.”

“I realised that everything is not so scary and not so difficult, that they support me, teach me, help me and explain to me. Now I am armed with the knowledge and know that I can always ask a question and get support.”

Tetyana now  feels empowered to stand on her own feet and successfully start her business in the UK.
